Partner with Us!

Are you an I.E. organization interested in history, education, culture, preservation, civil rights, environmental justice (the list goes on)? We would love to collaborate with you for events, talks, exhibitions, and more.

Contribute to the Archive!

A People’s History of the I.E. digital archive preserves the memories, stories, and objects of the diverse residents of the Inland Empire, but only with the help of our partners and you.

Do you see an image that you can identify? A person in a class photo who you are related to? Did you find a mistake we made (oops!)? Are there stories you, your relatives, or community members want to share? Has your family or community history yet to be told?

Contact us below to share any and all of the above. Your contributions and participation help recognize and write the rich history of Inland Southern California. We can conduct oral history interviews and digitize physical materials like photographs, letters, scrapbooks, maps, and more.

If you are a small Inland Empire cultural organization that has collections in need of preservation we want to hear from you! Send us an email at peopleshistoryie@gmail.com and let’s collaborate.

Contribute to our Mapping Project!

If you’d like to help us build our Map of the Archives or help us tell stories about a historic community in the I.E. that you know well, please email peopleshistoryie@gmail.com or email our mapping lead jennifer_tilton@redlands.edu. We love collaborating with community and family history keepers to map the stories of the diverse communities of the I.E.

Help Build Curriculum

We encourage teachers to use all the resources on our site. We also want your help in developing lesson plans and curriculum that will work best in K-12 classrooms. You’re the experts, so if you use our stories, StoryMaps, or archives in your lesson plans, please reach out so that we can further develop and share them. We will be happy to help locate materials for your lesson plans that localize history and engage ethnic studies curriculum to help other teachers and students understand our communities.

Concerns

If you are represented in materials presented on A People’s History of the I.E. Archive or Website and no longer wish to have your words or images included here, then we will remove them from public view. Please notify us at peopleshistoryie@gmail.com or (951) 827-5823, and grant us time to accommodate your request.
